Förutom den civila verksamheten har flygplatsen även en militär sektion. Blekinge flygflottilj har ett internationellt flygförband och två JAS-divisioner på flygplatsen. Flygbasjägarskolan, Sveriges enda jägarförband, driver också flygplatsen.
